Today’s hoop class was another beautiful experience! What joy I find in turning one’s “I cannot” into “I CAN!”. One more success story:a student walked into the door of my class today saying ‘I can NOT hoop’ and within 15 minutes she was laughing and smiling and saying “look- I CAN hula hoop!”. HOORAY! Teaching is one of my greatest passions and I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to share beautiful learning experiences with each and every person I come in contact with. I gain just as much (in some cases even more) than my students every time.
I challenge all of you to try one thing this week on your “I can NOT” list. Is there something that your heart has been aching to try and have already ruled it out of your life as a “cannot” with out even trying? Something you may have tried before which frustrated you and you never bothered picking up again? Did you automatically discount something that has intrigued your senses simply because it is out of your normal routine? By stepping out of our comfort zones we allow room for life to expand and our wings to finally take flight. It takes a great deal of courage but you will be stronger in the long run for standing up and stepping out of the box. Have you ever tried to pick up a hula hoop? Ever tried dancing with your eyes closed without a care in the world no matter who is watching? BE BOLD. Step out on a limb….see what you discover. You may never look back!
Check out this great article on the subject here at the DailyOM site: Expanding your Comfort Zone. This website has been an amazing tool in my life! I have grown to love this site and check it daily.
Have a great weekend!
