Come play with us in the Downtown Decatur Square! The end of Summer is here and we are ready for some outdoor FUN. I don’t know about you but the cooler temps and breezy early morning air has me thinking about Fall. While I welcome a break from the humidity any chance I can get, I know time will fly by quickly and land right smack into Winter. Let’s get outside and play while we can enjoy the weather.
Bring a friend, your family – all ages and everyone is welcome. This is a free event. Come learn to hula hoop by playing with others. Bring any hoops you would like to share, I will provide a few hoops for use and we will hula hoop, dance, play and join in community. Can’t wait to see you! Come make new friends and learn to hoop dance. We welcome everyone to join the fun! Get a good workout while you smile and giggle, you won’t even notice the time.

We will gather in the center of the square either by the gazebo around the law or at the top on the concrete by the “misting” sculpture. Call me if you have any questions! 404-431-8876 **These events will be cancelled in the event of severe weather in Downtown Decatur.
Check the calendar for updates! http://hoopessence.com/calendar/
This is a learn by play event, not a formal class. Bring your hoop or borrow one, just show up with a smile! Everyone is welcome. Come out and spin with us.
We will also take this time to speak about more indoor hoop classes and jams at Kinetic Hive. I look forward to seeing you!
**IMPORTANT*** If you have never been to Kinetic Hive, please allow yourself at least 15 minutes extra time to find parking and find your way to the entrance. This is in a loft building in the back and not the easiest place to find on your first try. Know where you are going before heading out. Need help?? Contact me BEFORE the event and I can help you on your way.
Kinetic Hive is located in the Cotton Dock Lofts at Sampson St & John Wesley Dobbs (close to Mint Gallery). You may park in any of the spaces allotted on JWD or Sampson street. Look for the small painted signs that say Kinetic Hive (also the larger signed marked tube, you may park in this lot). We will be in Unit R around the back side of the building. Look for the green stairs & the chinese lanterns above the door. Unit R. Please be respectful of the neighbors and the space! We are very lucky to be able to use this space, let’s treat it with kindness.
Thanks to all who came out to jam with us this past Friday for World Hoop Day in Atlanta. We had a great time! Special thanks to Katherine who filmed this as we began to spin our hoops in Piedmont Park. Much love! Don’t forget you may donate hoops or funds all year long to World Hoop Day by visiting www.worldhoopday.com
I encourage you to seek more information via their website, http://www.worldhoopday.com/ This is a not for profit organization who has worked to donate adult sized hoops to children all over the globe as a tool to “bring joy to an otherwise devastating situation”. Hoopers all over the globe unite and celebrate, host fundraisers and share the love of hooping on this day. We in Atlanta will congregate at a TBD location to celebrate together. Learn the World Hoop Day dance with me! We will practice this dance on our own and when we come together on 11/11/11 we will dance as one! I am so excited about this! Here is part one of the choreography
Hello lovelies! I have created a group on Meetup.com for Atlanta Hoop Dance. Please join up and help me spread the joy of hooping to the masses. Join us for classes, jams, potlucks and more. Whether you are a hoop pro or never could quite “get it”, this group is for you! We are hooping for fitness and exercise, fun, stress reduction, creative self expression, building coordination and balance, sound body and mind. I love to dance and feel the music! Won’t you join us?
