Tuesdays Hoop Classes at Kinetic Hive
April 3, 10, 17 & 24

7:30-9pm
Intermediate/advance hoop class. We will learn tricks and transitions to build your hooping tool box! All skill levels are welcome in this class and can benefit from the knowledge shared. SPACE IS LIMITED! This class has a max of 8 attendees. Bring a hoop or borrow one of mine! Bring water & dress comfortably in clothes that allow freedom of movement. 1.5hr hour class $15 or use your Kinetic Hive or HoopEssence class card.

Hooping 201 Playshop Series: Chest, Shoulder & Legs!

This class series is for those who would like learn to hoop on their chest, shoulders, legs with many variations. We will explore stretches to help open up and prepare your back and shoulders allowing more freedom for movement. Don’t miss this action packed playshop series! *Join us for four Sundays in April 22 through May 13 at Ladies Workout Express Atlanta. Space is limited! Only $15 each class when you sign up for both through this link, save $20 when you secure your space in advance or at the beginning of the first class. Full Moon Hoop Jam: Piedmont Park

Friday April 6, 2012 we will gather in Piedmont Park for a hula hoop jam and hang out. Bring toys, blankets, drinks & food, something to share with friends and hang out in the park. Taft Hill on 10th St by the Charles Allen Drive entrance. Gather on top of the hill for Sunset and watch the Full Moon rise. This is going to be a great learn by play experience. Come out &PLAY!

Brownwood Bike Rally:
Cranking for a Cause

“Kick your bike into gear at the 9th-annual Brownwood Bike Rally onMay 5! Join kids and adults for street bike and cyclocross races, a bike safety rodeo, a health fair, a fun festival area and more at Brownwood Park in East Atlanta.” Rebecca DeShon will conduct a FREE hoop demo & class from 10:45am-11:15am on Saturday May 5 in the basketball court area (inside the rec center if bad weather). I will also be selling my fabulous hand crafted hoops. Look for more information on our website as well as the East Atlanta Kids Club site. All proceeds benefit the East Atlanta Kids Club’s after-school tutoring and mentoring program for promising youth.

EAV Earth Day Festival

Come hang out in my neighborhood! Join us for a lantern making workshop at 4pm ($5) and enjoy our beautiful weekly farmers market. At dusk, we will launch the wish lanterns and set off on a LED and lantern parade throught the village over to Brownwood Park. Rebecca DeShon performs with others from The Imperial Opa Circus to kick off Brownwoods Movies in the Park series. Bring your glow toys, lanterns or make a lantern with us – COME PLAY! EAV Earth Day Festival

Come hula hoop in the parade with your LED hula hoop (or other flow toys) or parade with a lantern at my neighborhood (East Atlanta Village) Earth Day Festival! We will meet at the EAV East Atlanta FarmersMarket on opening day to build lanterns at 4pm.

8pm is Lantern Launch & Parade through the village. Join us!

Join the East Atlanta Community Association for a three day Earth Day 2012 Festival with the theme “Celebrate, Educate, Participate” on April 19th, 21st, and 22nd!

Schedule Breakdown:

April 19th, Thursday:

Celebrate with EAV’s Lantern Parade and Wish Lantern Launch

4pm-8pm: The event begins with the East Atlanta Farmer’s Market opening day, which includes a lantern building workshop at the EACA booth in the market. Guests may also purchase wishing lanterns for the sunset launch for 5$. Make a wish for your neighborhood and set it free, all proceeds benefit EACA programs.

Note: Thursday, April 12th, EACA will also host a Lantern Building Workshop from 5pm-8pm Location TBA. Bring a lantern to decorate or purchase one there to benefit EACA! Crafting supplies and guidance provided.

8pm, Sunset Wish Lantern Launch, followed by Lantern Parade through the Village, ending in Brownwood Park.

9pm, Brownwood Movies in the Park Series Begins, hosted by East Atlanta’s own Studio Outpost with entertainment by the Imperial OPA, HoopEssence, and the Vauxhall Gardens Variety Players.

April 21st, Saturday:

“Educate:” 12pm-5pm Three locations for Events:

Farmer’s Market site: Freecycle tables, educational workshops, recycling drop-off points, start of walking tours. Full schedule to be posted soon!

“Participate:” 10am to 1pm: Join EACA’s Beautification committee at 10am at the main planter on Glenwood and Flat Shoals to help with spring planting and beautifying the neighborhood.
